Should I tip my moving crew?

Tips for movers are optional and given when movers provide great service. Tips can be any amount, but like restaurants, people usually tip a percentage of their move, anywhere from 10%-25%. You are welcome to tip in cash, or with a credit card. 100% of your tip will go to your crew. If you don't have the budget for a tip and loved the service, please consider giving your mover a review online and shouting them out by name.

We accept credit, debit, and cash. We don't accept checks.

How do I calculate the cost of my move?

We have a two hour minimum on our 24' trucks, then we have a "pay as you go" structure. We charge an hourly rate that starts when the mover/packer arrives and you sign them in, and continues while they load, transport, and unload your items. We prorate by 15 min, so you only pay for the time they are working for you. Our transparent travel fee that covers the cost to get the crew to your location and back after they unload. If you are shopping rates, make sure you ask the other guys: 1. When do you start the clock? Many times they start charging you before they arrive at your home. 2. Is there a fuel surcharge? 3. Are there any extra fees?

Can someone else pay for my move?

Absolutely! When the cardholder won't be present to pay for a service we can send a credit card authorization form. This keeps information secure and easy for our crews to process after the move is complete.

Will I be paying my movers during their lunch break?

You'll never be charged for breaks and lunches. The time is tracked and will be removed before you sign out the team.

How do I pay for my move?

Once the job is complete, you will sign the crew out on their iPad which stops the clock. You can then pay with cash, credit or debit.

What does transparent travel fee cover?

The transparent travel fee at 3 Men Movers covers getting our moving/packing crews and their supplies out to your starting location and driving back to our warehouse once the job is complete. Companies who don't have a transparent travel fee usually start the clock when they leave the warehouse and not when they arrive at your location. You still need to pay a fee, but with us you have a predetermined amount so you know the exact amount of the fee before you start and you don't have to worry about traffic!

When exactly does the hourly rate start and end?

The clock starts when you sign in with the moving crew and continues while they safely load your items onto the truck, transport your items to the new location and upload your items into your new home. The time will stop when you sign the crew out and your job is complete and you are satisfied.
